Step A: Verify Dial-Up Networking

  1. Double click on 'My Computer'
  2. If you have a 'Dial-Up Networking' folder proceed to Step B, if not continue with this step
  3. Go to the 'Control Panel'
  4. Double click 'Add/Remove Programs'
  5. Select the 'Windows Setup' tab
  6. Double click on "Communications"
  7. Check the 'Dial-Up Networking' box
  8. Click 'Ok', Click 'Ok' agaain
  9. Dial-Up Networking will now be installed and you will be asked to restart your computer
Step B: Configure Network

  1. Go to 'Control Panel'
  2. Double click on 'Network'
  3. Click on the 'Services' tab, and ensure you have 'Remote Access Service'.
  4. If you do not have it installed, do so by clicking on the 'Add' button
  5. Click on 'Properties'
  6. Verify that your modem is connected to RAS. If not click 'Add' to add your modem to the list
  7. Click on 'Network'
  8. Make sure 'TCP/IP' is the only option selected. Click 'Ok'

Step C: Creating a Dial-Up Connection

  1. Double click on 'My Computer'
  2. Double click on 'Dial-Uup Netoworking'
  3. If this is the first time to start Dial-Up Networking you will be prompted stating that you do not have any phonebook entries and you should click on 'Ok' to create one.
  4. Click on the 'Basic' tab
  5. In the 'Entry Name' field type 'eNet'.
  6. In the 'Phone Number' field type your local access number from the list below
  7. Click on the 'Server' tab
  8. Make sure that 'TCP/IP' and 'Enable PPP LCP extensions' are the only ones checked
  9. Click on the 'TCP/IP Settings' button and make sure 'Server assigned IP address' and 'Server assigned name server addresses' are both checked and 'Use default gateway on remote network' should be the only one checked at the bottom, click 'Ok'
  10. Click on the 'Script' tab, make sure that 'None' is selected
  11. Click on the 'Security' tab, make sure that 'Except any authentication including clear text' is marked
  12. Click on the 'X-25' tab, make sure the "Network" item is selected as 'none'
  13. Click 'Ok' to finish setting up your eNet connection
  14. Click 'Dial'. This will bring up a dialog box for 'username, password, and domain'. Make sure you type in your username and password and enter '@ee.net' for the domain.
